Welcome to the Dixie Regional 2019
The DelMarVa Hosta Society welcomes you to the Dixie Regional Hosta Convention, May 3-5, 2019. The Convention hotel is the Marriott Fairfield Inn at 19113 Coastal Highway, Rehoboth Beach, DE. The hotel is located on Route 1, midway between Lewes (The First Town in the First State) and Rehoboth Beach (The Nation's Summer Capital). Please book your room through the portal on the Dixie Region's website.
Lewes was recently voted most beautiful small town in America for the fourth time in the past fifteen years, and Zwaanendael Park includes a hosta garden sponsored and maintained by the DelMarVa Hosta Society. Shipcarpenter Square merits a stroll or drive-by to view the historic houses, and if you want to see a cannonball from the War of 1812, be sure to see the Cannonball House. Quaint Second Street offers shops and restaurants. The Intracoastal Waterway assumes canal form here and passes just west of Rehoboth Beach to the south; check out the canal front.
Rehoboth Beach offers a one-mile boardwalk for a pleasant stroll past Dolle's--a Rehoboth institution--where you can pick up a salt water taffy treat for folks back home. If you are a fan of calzone pizza, be sure to order the Nic-o-boli at Nicola's--another Rehoboth institution. Nearby is a bona fide locally owned and operated bookstore, Browseabout, offering new and used books. Rehoboth also boasts an array of outstanding food options--from fine dining to snacks. An active night life offers live music--check out this schedule.
